Proper Hotel Santa Monica

The Proper Hotel, located a short walk from the beach in Santa Monica, opened its doors in June. The 271-room lifestyle lodging boasts the Westside’s only rooftop pool deck and offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Meanwhile, the hotel’s design reflects its surrounding landscape; picture an earth-toned palette and an abundance of texture using natural elements. Latin-inspired Onda, a collaboration between chefs Jessica Koslow (of Sqirl fame) and Mexico City’s Gabriela Camara, is finally open and the Surya Spa will open in winter and will offer Ayurvedic treatments.

Kimpton Hotel Arras: Asheville, NC

Hotel Arras, Asheville

Hotel Arras, Asheville

With an Art Deco exterior and an industrial yet luxe interior, the Kimpton Hotel Arras is the perfect spot to enjoy both the vibe of artsy downtown Asheville and the serenity of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. The hotel, which was once a former BB&T Bank building now offers 128 rooms with city and mountain views. Each room features artwork from a local artist and guests can request a Serenity Cart at bedtime that includes teas and chocolate from local vendors. After hiking to a waterfall or hitting the boutiques, galleries and breweries in Pack Square, enjoy a scrumptious dinner at the hotel’s Mediterranean-inspired Bargello restaurant, or meet up for cocktails and bites at District 42.
